Launch of New Craft Brewery

SITUATION + ASK:

Bousa Brewing Company [recently renamed Focal Beer Café] hired Twin Minds Media to handle PR for the launch of their craft brewery in Miami’s Little River District.

The brewery opened in 2017 amid a craft brewery boom in South Florida and was looking to build visibility and drive attendance to their opening night.

STRATEGY OVERVIEW:

Our team developed and executed a strategy designed to spark interest and drive awareness and excitement at a local level, both leading up to and during Bousa’s craft brewery launch.

PR efforts began with a competitive market analysis to get a better understanding of South Florida’s craft brewery landscape and the earned media footprint in the space. The team then proceeded to build a list of media and influencer contacts in the business, lifestyle, food, and beverage verticals.

Outreach to key local and national outlets covering the South Florida craft beer scene started several months prior to the launch date with a more aggressive push as we got closer to the opening night.

The pre-promotion phase involved complimentary tastings and one-on-one tours of the brewery for journalists and influencers. Media guests were invited to experience the brewery firsthand and encouraged to post reviews of the beer, food, and venue to introduce the brewery to their readers and followers.

A VIP list of reporters, producers, bloggers, and influencers attended the grand opening celebration and enjoyed a sampling of the craft beer and different menu items in a festive and upbeat atmosphere accompanied by live music from Miami’s very own Locos por Juana.

RESULTS:

Bousa Brewing Company’s opening night was incredibly busy. A total of 27 media and influencers attended the launch event with live social media coverage secured across Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.

Media coverage was secured across leading local publications including Miami New Times, South Florida Business Journal , TimeOut and SouthFlorida.com, as well as in top industry outlets and blogs such as Brewbound, Craft Brewing Business, The Full Pint, Beer Pulse, Mundo Cerveza, Florida Beer Blog, and Daily Beer Review.

Social media coverage highlights include posts from lokal_eats, sincerelymiami, miamidrinkscene, soflanights, foodand_brew, among many others.
